What is the Gospel?
Jesus the King:
- pre-existed with the Father (John 1:1-18),
- took on human flesh, fulfilling God’s promise to David (2 Sam. 7:8-16),
- died for sins in accordance with the Scriptures (Is. 53),
- was buried (Matt. 27:57-61),
- was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures (Hos. 6:2; Is. 53:10-11; Matt. 28:1-8),
- appeared to many (1 Cor. 15:5-7),
- is seated at the right hand of God as Lord (Acts 7:55-56), and
- will come again as judge (Matt. 25:31-46; 2 Tim. 4:1).
