Next Sunday there will not be at English service at enCompass.  Instead we will all meet up at Investors Group Field for the City-Wide One Heart Worship Service!

When over 80 churches and 20,000 people from different backgrounds and ethnicity get together, you know it’s going to be a foretaste of heaven.  You also know that not everyone is going to know (or even like) all the songs we will be singing.  So, to prepare yourself for Sunday, here is the music set for next week’s service.  Watch these videos and familiarize yourself with the songs before Sunday.

OPENING
A New Hallelujah (Michael W. Smith)

MUSIC SET
My Savior Lives (New Life Worship)
Happy Day (Tim Hughes)
Here for You (Matt Redman)
10,000 Reasons (Matt Redman)

OFFERING
O, For a Thousand Tongues (David Crowder)

CLOSING
Trading My Sorrows (Israel Houghton version) (with Celebration and with Fresh IE)

What is CHAI?  The CHAI Centre is a charitable non-profit organization focussed on helping newcomers integrate into Canadian society.  Our former pastor, Steven Hoffman works for them and many of us at enCompass volunteer with CHAI on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings.

Come, show your support for this wonderful organization!

I Lost My Sermon Notes

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Sermons

Today my sermon notes mysteriously disappeared right before I was to begin speaking.  Still can’t find them.

Anyway, I wanted to highlight one of the quotes from Day 11 of your Daily Devotionals (even made a Powerpoint slide for it), but forgot.  Here it is,

“His [Christ’s] acceptance of us doesn’t condone any sin, it recognizes that we are all God’s workmanship – each of us is a uniquely shaped child of God created for a specific purpose.”

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. (Romans 15:7 NIV)

I like how the verse is worded in The Message: “So reach out and welcome one another to God’s glory. Jesus did it; now you do it!”

WYSIWYG

What you see is what you get! You may not like everything you see about the community God has given you, but it’s what you get.  Remember God has brought these precious people together.  We are not just a random bunch of people who happen to show up at the same place every Sunday morning.  God has brought this community together.  Let’s be intentional about being a “community”.

Our small groups are preparing the way for us. On May 19 at the 9:30 service, our small groups will present their service projects to us.  Those of us not in a small group can sign up with one of the groups to volunteer with them for their Random Act of Kindness.
